Is it possible?

My name is Vicky, I have been married to my first and only boyfriend for almost 24 years.
Back in 1986 we were just teenagers with a $500 budget and a bunch of dreams for the future.
Today, we have 6 children, 1 son-in-love and 1 precious grandprincess.   You see, our meager $500 wedding was wonderful, it began this adventure of life for me and my beloved.
Was it everything that I dreamed of since childhood?  no
Did I have the fancy wedding gown?  Designer flowers?  Actual printed wedding invitations?
no, no & no
I guess that is why I have spent the last 20 years helping brides on a budget have the wedding of their dreams.

Many people smirk when I tell them that they don't have to spend $10,000 to have a gorgeous wedding.
I have proved that theory more than a couple times.
BUT as an experiment on how to actually spend a fraction of the cost, I am starting this website/blog.
I want you to walk with me through the process of having an elegant wedding for under $2,000.

This wedding is planned for next summer 2011 and it will be mine.
I am planning the wedding that I didn't get to have back in 1986.
I am going to use my knowledge in how to do this and put it into practice.
I'll give you pictures and up to the minute details in the blog about how we are doing this.

UPDATES  September 26, 2010

It's funny that I'm sitting here just a little over a month since beginning to plan my wedding next summer.  Since the last time I posted we have had 2 major hospital stays, 4 weeks of blood treatments and one surgery.  The insurance is good but not great and so I sit here looking at this mounting stack of dr. and hospital bills.  I am torn and a bit overwhelmed not knowing if this will even happen.  My budget has been cut into quarters and it will take every bit of ingenuity and creativity that I possess.  Not to mention calling in favors from friends, many that I have not known long enough to even ask.  So here we go, if it happens it will be a miracle.  I'll keep you posted!
